TN2 gait analysis: How this helps determine the right running apparel
Understanding your running style is an important part of choosing the right shoes. We use state-of-the-art Contemplas Templo gait analysis software, where we video you running on the treadmill and can then see how your feet, ankles, and the rest of your body are aligned as you run. Running gaits tend to fall into one of three categories: Neutral, overpronated (the most common), and underpronated. Overpronation, is where the foot rolls inwards, so needs a stabilising shoe, whilst those people who have underpronation, sometimes called supination, roll their ankles outwards. Underpronation is the most common pronation type and seen in people with flat feet or low arches.
Different brands will stock different shoes for a variety of runners, and we stock shoes from all the big name brands. These include everything from minimal racing shoes, to very cushioned trail running trainers.
